Tears for Fears
Tears for Fears are an English pop-rock and new-wave band formed in Bath in 1981 by Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith. They broke through with the UK number-one album The Hurting in 1983 before achieving worldwide success with Songs from the Big Chair in 1985, home to “Shout” and “Everybody Wants to Rule the World”.
The duo’s polished blend of synth-pop, rock and emotionally direct songwriting made them one of the defining British groups of the decade.
