Dire Straits

Dire Straits were a British rock band formed in London in 1977 by Mark Knopfler, David Knopfler, John Illsley and Pick Withers. Mark Knopfler’s distinctive finger-picked guitar and understated storytelling shaped the band’s sound.

The 1985 album Brothers in Arms became an international success through songs including “Money for Nothing”, “Walk of Life” and the title track.
